Man, this is the wierdest hump day ever. The maintenance guy shows up and starts working on some of the door locks. I didn't think anything of it. Then after he's been in the building for about an hour, the unit manager comes around handing out NEW KEYS.

Oh yeah, no problems here.... Just everyone BUT ONE PERSON (who's not here today) gets new keys for the new door locks. So obviously they're going to fire this person. This is a professional office, BTW, not like a high turnover rate, or entry level position. This person was hired less than 6 months ago and brought on board a bunch of contacts with potential clients. We had a presentation scheduled for November that could have been worth tens of millions of dollars for the company, but it got postponed until March.

Anyway, I thought this person was untouchable because of the presentation coming in March (that this person is 100% responsible for getting us invited to). But apparently, this person did something so.... wrong, horrible, unprofessional, or whatever that they got themself fired. Only no one that knows what happened can talk about it :|.
 
we had a guy at work one time who was fired because he sneaked up on a girl in her cubicle, pulled out his johnson, and tapped her on the shoulder with it. she turned around to see a big ol' one eye monster staring her down. it's true! lol

We had a guy get fired here for jerking off while on a call. Late night, dead callcenter, the guy's manager walked over to talk to him & found him beating it. Gave him two choices: "Walk now, or explain to your next employer why you got fired."

A guy where my dad works got demoted several levels for whipping it out to prove he had balls when somebody suggested he didn't. Funny thing is it wasn't the people who were actually there that complained. They all had no problem with it, but word got around & somebody else reported it.

Gotta say to do something like that you're pretty stoopid. Probably deserved it.

wtf!? ive never heard of people doing this kind of stuff at work! i would quit if i found out my coworkers did stuff like that and didnt say anything.
 
I'd say there is a 90% chance on the firing. The receptionist (who seems to know what happened) says that when she heard about "it" that she was speechless. She described "it" as despicable and indicated that the responsible person is *not* who she appears to be on the surface (it's a woman that is getting fired).

The receptionist told me that she was certain we'd all eventually find out what this person did to get let go so suddenly (discovery of the event was 2 days ago I guess, keys changed today!)

Well, if it makes you feel better, this person is not hurting financially. She would always ask me about stuff like laptop computers, and like the next day she would have purchased one. She's purchased a boat and a cabin in the last six months. She ain't getting that kind of money around here!

So one day I said, "Man, you must be swimming in money!". It's Alaska; we're not so subtle sometimes. She told me that she came into a fairly serious amount of money 5 years ago when she became a widow.

Hmmmmmmm. Maybe she's a black widow! :Q
 
wow, getting fired for lopping your mule at work. what a riot. i wouldn't have fired the dork, though. i'd just laught it off.

what's far worse are the people who go to the bathroom and piss all over the toilet seat or the urinal and never flush. oh yeah, they also smear boogers all over the walls. this is in a high tech semiconductor facility, too. if i caught someone doing that i'd fire their ass. now that is sick!

Ha ha! I love to make stupid pictures where the head is obviously pasted on. I make the head too big on purpose because it's funnier looking, and because it's easier to cover up the original.

Not firing him would have opened them up to sexual harrassment lawsuits. If they knew about actions that produce a hostile work environment & do nothing to rectify it they are wide open for damages. If they act promptly & fire the moron they aren't.

**MORE UPDATES**

Everyone is walking on eggshells today because the lady that *didn't* get a key is back in the office today (unexpectedly)! She was supposed to be off for a few days I guess. It's all tense, and the receptionist is literally walking around on tiptoes and using hand signals to find out where the soon-to-be-fired employee is located. Guess she doesn't want to end up alone with her in a hallway or something.

No one will say what this lady did to get herself unforgiven, but when I find out what happened, you know I'll let you in on it.

I just got asked NOT TO LEAVE THE BUILDING until further notice! Apparently they need a big guy around "just in case" but they asked me to do it instead.
 
Once we had the FBI come into the DieRoom and arrest this guy for mail fraud. This guy always had a scam going on. As an apprentice I worked with this guy and like on first day on the job, well I look over at what he's doing and he's making pennies into dimes by shaving the outside edges off with a home made die.

The mail fraud was sending out this one page of energy saving tips during the energy crisis for $20.
 
Sorry. I got pulled away from the computer just as I was typing in the update. Anyway, it's going down with a 3-way conference call. Our head of Human Resources for the whole company asked that I be in the building as the firing happens, "just in case". I'm what passes for a big guy in this office, I guess.

Maybe you're the one who's getting the axe but they don't realize that you're also the big guy asked to stick around. 😀 I can just see that happening...
