There are people that say the Honda S2000 which was around the $20k to $40k mark, interior was similar to the Enzo( 1.2 British pounds$ ) or Maserati MC12 ( 600k British pounds$ ).

Or the Mustang Mach III concept car $400k, which people considered a American Lamborghini, made for the middle class.

Or the Toyota MR2 which was like the Mazda RX8 at a cheaper price.

Are cars like these long gone, the last one the Honda S2000, sold in US in 2009, it is 2015 and no car like it for the middle class have ever been built :'( .

The 2005 Acura NSX $50K, barely affordable for modern day middle class, compare it to the 2016 NSX which is $175K approximately  . $175K, for $50k cheaper I can get a V8 Audi R8!:colbert: for $125K (still not affordable).

Also The Audi R8 V8 was said to be projected the cheapest Mid-engine car not built in the US in 2016, and guess whose in second place Acura NSX by $50k:eek: .

Was 2009 the last year that any US American middle class can afford a mid-engine sports can not made by a us manufacturer, without leasing the car.

I hope some one responds.:'( :(:':):)'(

So much wrong in this post

The S2000 was not a mid engined car, and neither was an RX-8. Not only that, the S2000 is literally nothing like an RX-8, it doesnt even have pistons in it.

I still don't know what the OP is trying to say. The market for small, cheap-ish sports cars like the Miata/MX-5 is basically dead, except for the Mazda of course. The pony car market is still alive and kicking. The new Mustang is pretty good and the Camaro is about to be replaced with a new model. Lots of power at decent prices.

I think part of it is due to the horsepower race. I believe the gen1 Miata was around 115HP, and few had any issues with it. Today, many people won't sit in a car that has less than 200 under the hood. This comes at a price, and that price is cost and weight.

See I was right, yes you can say I was off but, still its a Mazda RX

No, it's not. At all.

Then again, you compared a Honda S2000 to a Ferrari Enzo so I will just accept that you are not overburdened with an abundance of schooling.

I have like four neighbors with Enzos. They are so affordable for us middle class folks. We take pity on the S-class drivers and their sub 1/2 million dollar cars.
