I have the P5LD2 with a P4 3ghz, 1gig of ddr2 667mhz OCZ, Antec Neo HE 500w power supply, ATI X1800XL 256mb. With all of that in, it just reboots none stop. If i take the video card out and put a PCI card in, it reboots alot less. I got XP installed with the PCI card in but now when i get into windows i get an error:

ISASS.exe System error
Insufficient system resources exsit to complete the API

When I searched the net for that error, people with laptops that are trying to hibernate, get this error. So why am I getting this error.


Please Help me.
 
I can get into the Bios, but not for very long. Sometimes I can do what I need to do, but sometime it restarts on me.

Oh ya, no safe mode
 
Can you check your CPU and video card temps? I had the same problem once and it turned out to be that the CPU fan came loose.

If you're rebooting in bios it's not a software issue. In fact you should reset the cmos first. Then look at pulling out everything except one stick of memory, the cpu, psu, and video card. If you still reboot after a few seconds, or while you're in the bios, try reapplying the thermal compound to the cpu. If this solves the reboot problems try running memtest86+ for a few hours.

I don't know how to check my video card.

I posted this same post on the Asus form and a guy there said I should try getting a different power supply because the modular ones can have problems.

It could very well be the PSU. It looks like a reasonable PSU, but it could just be faulty. Have any spares to test with?
 
I took the Antec one back and just got the only other brand Best Buy had. A Dynex 500w power supply. I hooked it up and the 2 or 3 times I booted up, it only restarted either when I told it too or when I get to the part with the error message. The old power supply did this a few times also, so I am not 100% sure that this is the fix.

As for the error I get, I will reinstall Windows when I get home from work tonight.
 
I put the new power supply in, no more problems.
Reloaded windows, no more error.

All good here.
