Are the settings that allow more efficient / cleaner changes? Because so far, it seems like I would have to change out the drives while the computer is off, or atleast while I'm rebooting. Just wondering if anyone messes with this, and have any advice.

Hmmm. I found this article, and although it it talking about *nix, it basically states that the IDE architecture can't handle it. That sucks.

Yes as far as I know it is not done with IDE, but supposedly SATA may be what you're looking for to hot swap.

Okay. I'll just turn off the machine. No big deal. Thanks.
