So what would you buy? My dad will be buying a new PC in roughly 10 days, he's going to need a somewhat high-end videocard, but I think my 8800ts 320mb will do the trick for him

So would the 8800gtx be worth it for 227 euro's vs the 8800gts or 8800gt which costs 190 euro's or 150 euro's? I know it requires more power and puts out more heat, but if it performs much better at 1680*1050 I'll take that for granted. My cooler-master 650w PSU should be able to handle it.

I've got to be quick though, because I think it's a 'HOT DEAL' and won't last forever ...

You need to buy a 8800 GTS 512 MB ram. (Not 320mb!!)
It is the best purchase right now. I am going to buy it.

Hmmm, think I found the answer myself: http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3140&p=9

Looks like the 8800gt is only a weeeeee bit slower then the 8800gtx. With the 8800gts being only a WEEEEE bit slower then the 8800ultra * from a different benchmark *

The 8800gt is a fair bit faster then the 8800gts 320mb though. So I guess it will be either a 8800gt or 8800gts, depending on how good of a price I can find on them.

Get the GTS, 2-slot cooler + it's slightly more powerful.

I just made that exact jump. Made an insane amount of difference. I mean like bumping Crysis from 1024x768 to 1920x1200 difference 😛
