The system ran in the upper 30s-lower 40s a week ago. Now suddenly the temps have shot up. Whats odd is that the temps have gone up, even after the system has been off overnight.

Right now, i have the case opened, with a little ionic breeze desk fan blowing cold air in. No AC in the house. Average room temperature i would say is in the upper 70s, maybe even lower 80's.

i'd like to think that the sensors are off, but my case temperature reads at 25-28 degrees celcius. any ideas?

Is that Celsius?

Make sure there is good contact between the heatsink and the CPU, reseat it properly if not. Check if the fans are spinning.

An ionic breeze? Does that use charged plates to filter air? I dont know if I like the idea of shooting charged air into the comp.

yeah, i actually had the ions turned off. I was thinking the same.

i reseated the heatsink and the fan is properly working. the temperature is down to 48 idle. still not where it want it to be.
