I have an AMD 64 3200+ 939 with retail heatsink/fan installed in an Abit AN8-ultra motherboard. I have Cool and Quiet disabled in the bios and do not have any AMD software installed on the sytem. My question is, should the fan ramp up speed ocassionally eventhough no software is installed and Cool and Quiet is disabled? I would like to be able to just set the cpu fan at one speed, because the constant back and forth of fan speed is annoying. TIA

The C&Q may just lower the voltage and multiplier, there may be a seperate setting in your BIOS for the fan speed (that's how it is in my BIOS)
