Did you do a clean install of 2K, or an upgrade (i.e. did you format and install, or just pop in the disc and go from there)?
 
You might be better off backing up her stuff and starting from scratch.

Before it gets to that, though, what model network card do you have?
 
It's the Cnet card that came with the Dell. The drivers for that are OK. Device manager shows the network adapter as good.
 
😕 Huh? I thought you said you were missing your network driver ...

Do you have a modem installed, by chance? That may be your other "network controller"
 
Nope. I'm not missing the network adapter (i.e. NIC card) drivers, I'm missing the drivers for something called the network controller. The network controller is what I don't have in my computer w/W2K. Thanks for being persistent.
