Get a camera made some time in the last decade and record it outside. I can't hear what the hell is going on.

The engine is obviously cranking, but I can't tell if it's at a normal speed or not. It generally seems to sound...unhealthy. Like perhaps the timing belt has let go. But it could just be the sound of a much less worrisome slow crank (i.e. dead battery) combined with all the echoing.

That CR-V has a K24 so it has a timing chain. To me it sounds like the starter solenoid isn't engaging...the starter gear grinding against the side of the flex plate.
