Man, I thought I hated Microsoft before this, but now I hate them even worse. I just got shut out of no less than 3 of my favorites sites just recently because of them. And here's their stupid worthless excuse why:
"You will need Windows XP and Internet Explorer to continue to view any content on this site. Please go to Microsoft and upgrade your operating system and browser. You will also need to download the latest version of Windows Media Player to view video clips on this site."
I am most certainly not! I will not upgrade to WindowsXP and I don't care what garbage Microsoft tries to pull, I am not bowing to their stupid, worthless, two faced, back stabbing, (you can kinda tell I'm supposed to be mad here, no? 😀) greedy, monpolistic, rule the world, you must obey us, we are your masters, resistance is futile attitude. I will most definately not upgrade my windows box to WindowsXP, they most certainly aren't laying a single hand on any of my linux boxes, I will not stop using Mozilla in favor of InterWreck Exploder Bloatware 6.0, and they can forget trying to force me to do anything I don't wish to. I will just go elsewhere. :|
Ok, I'm done ranting. Had to get that off my chest. So, does anyone else think this way about Microsoft? :disgust:😉😀
Personally I think that's very low of them to force you to have to switch all or a good chunk of your software, including your OS, to Microsoft garbage just to do a few things you used to do before. *sigh* 🙁

Dude, Windows XP is a walking security hole. Do you realize how easy it is to hack? OMFG!! Dude, I can own your PC in less than 2 minutes, even WITH a firewall. I absolutely refuse to let anyone in our company run it. It's too big of a security risk. The heck with the fact that it's packed end for end with microsoft spyware, or DRM garbage. In my opinion, after much thurough testing of XP, I rulled it the worst excuse for an OS. The highest I'll let anyone go is Windows 2000 for those needing windows.
Everyone else in the company is being switched to Linux this spring. We're going 100% Microsoft free by June 1st and staying that way.

Oh, those are dangerous words when you're talking to the chief Technology Manager (recently promoted from IT manager) of MIS. Dude, when I ran my NOC, I used to have hackers for breakfast. So I know all their tricks. How else would I be able to patch up all the holes in my security and keep them out? It's also how I tested XP. I threw the best hacking tools I could find at it and it fell flat on its face like you've never seen.(truly, a one year student could, i so doubt that LordRaiden is even half that qualified)...😉

Yes, I hope you are kidding. In fact, I might actually boot into windows long enough to laugh at your silly ass trying to 'hack my box.' It's funny you mention it being a terrible operating system, and yet you like windows 2000, considering the operating system portion is almost exactly the same kernel as 2000, the only difference being a few minor tweaks, and a newer GUI. Your ignorance is why I feel no sorrow for people who bash microsoft, because you have no ground to stand on.

By the way. You have no fear of me hacking your box. My statement was simply conveying that those who are the best at security are also some of the best hackers out there. You can't beat a hacker unless you know how to hack. It's good security philosophy to know your enemy, his skills, and what he can do. You are better able to defend against them if you do.

I only said I would permit Windows 2000 because I have all the tools to secure 2000 so that it's hack resistant. Not hack proof. Mearly resistant. If you also read my other post I stated that I will be migrating our entire company away from windows. So the Windows 2000 solution would be only a temporary stopgap in the meantime for those needing to run Windows 2000 for any reasons. But I don't plan to use it for very long.
The day we're 100% Microsoft free, we're planning a huge burning. We're going to burn every Microsoft CD we have. It should make a nice fire. 😀
