I'm trying to get into my laptop (running XP Pro) from my main system running W2K. Both systems have a single account "Administrator" with the same password.

In Tools > Map Network Drive on my main system I specify "\\192.168.1.101\C$", and I am presented with a login prompt. However, the Administrator login & password isn't being accepted.

So I right-click C: on my laptop, and in the Sharing Properties I create a new share called "C". Back on my main system I Map Network Drive "\\192.168.1.101\C", and I am again presented with a login prompt. Now the Administrator's login & password works fine. Except now, I'm unable to open most of the folders on the mapped drive - "Access is denied".

In order to get access to all the files on my laptop, do I have to manually setup shares for each of the folders I need to get into?

When both systems were running W2K, the Administrator login/password was all I needed to get in & out of the network drives without permission hassles. Is there any way I can keep this simple when one computer is running W2K, and the other is running XP?

Thanks! 🙂

EDIT: PROBLEM SOLVED (I had to turn OFF XP's simple file sharing, and recreate share point on the root of my laptop. 🙂
