Old ink cartridge ran out so i put a new one in. Now it only prints color and no black.

I have restarted both numerous time
...took cartridge in out a couple times
...installed new drivers
...tried head cleaner a couple of times
I dunno what else to do
any advice would help
oh and the MS logo prints but that's it
