Delete Dual Boot

I partitioned a drive (10/64 gig) and installed XP Pro then I used the install disk to format the other partition and now when it boots it asks me what XP Pro I want to start, 1 or 2. The first one I want to keep but I need to get rid of the other and can't seem to accomplish that no matter what I try........HELP

Boot to the recovery console from the CD.

fixboot
fixmbr

then reboot.

i think all you need to do is edit your boot.ini in the root path and just get rid of the second installation.
