Here is the deal, a friend of my dads, owns a business which makes better then average money per year. its a really decent living. Anyways the owner is retiring and is contemplating shutting the store down or selling it. My dad said if I wanna take it over he can help me. Only problem is I'm in grade 12, and was scheduled to start university next year. Which should I take, university or store owner. My parents are telling me to do whichever. I dont know what to do.

Go to the university so you can learn how to spell "dilemma". ;)

Actually, I would go with taking over the store.

Take over store IF it is truely making a decent profit and he 5 year outlook is good. And also take classes at night. Mind you it will take a long tim BUT if the store ever folds or you sell it you will already have some classes under your belt.

Is the business of any interest to you at all? If not, then skip it. Forget about the money.

If engineering is what you would really love doing, then I would go to University.

Well if you got a degree, you can work in alotta places and have some versatility if one thing doesnt work out.
If your store closes, you are fvcked. Unless you have a degree to find another decent job.
