I'm sry, but I have never heard of this problem. I have this warning that comes up quite oftehn that says delayed write failed down on the taskbar, telling me there may be a problem caused by a network device or hardware and it says it failed to write a certain file to my secondary drive. I have an 80gb wd that is being used for storage as my secondary and this seems to be the drive having problems. I will post more specific info as soon as the error reappears again :(.

Thanks

Will do, I don't know if I have an extra lying aroud. I need a ribbon cable for two drives. Now, i am not really getting the error so much as just my comp freezing up and everytime windows starts, it checks my second drive for consistency.

Might want to go back to stock settings..I would run memtest to check your memory, as faulty(or if it's overclocked and not 100% stable) memory can cause hard drive corruption. Could also be that your motherboard doesnt' have PCI locks. I would run chkdsk on the drive.

thanks for the ideas stevty. I just swapped out my old cable and the system overall seems much more stable. Ill keep updating and run chkdsk. Thanks!!
