I have had some problems with the v5 Intel Chipset patch. Every time I install it I get an error on reboot: Delayed Write Failed. The last time I installed it, it didn't give me the error on the first reboot, but took a couple more.
I wiped the entire system, rebuilt it, and tried again. Same problem.
The error stops the entire machine from responding to me once it hits the OS and renders it unusable.
Below is the report I submitted to Intel (who first suggested that installing the chipset patch would fix my problem with the chipset patch, then that I remove Fast Writes, then that I switch my AGP setting to 4x).

Problem_started: After running the Intel Chipset Installation software, on the reboot of my machine.
Issue: Installed v5 of the Intel Chipset Installation software (4/14/2003). Rebooted machine after installation. Got following message during logon.
"Windows - Delayed Write Failed
Windows was unable to save all data for the file C:\$Mft. The data has been lost. This error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware or network connection. Please try to save the file elsewhere."
It repeated this error for several Windows directories, the looped around and started the errors again. System was stuck on these errors and I was forced to kill power to the system.
I reinstalled the OS and ran the patch again. The same problem occured.
