I'm starting to hate ATI...

1st, the 2D quality of my 9600XT card sucks donkey ballz

Now I just put in this tv card in xp and come to find out there's a delay in the sound. Looks like watching a chinese movie...cool effect, but not cool when watching live tv :|

I find that the program automatically mutes the line in and uses wav in my sound volume control panel. So, I mute the wave and uncheck the mute box for line in. The sound catches up but it sounds like crap :(

help!

Reinstall your sound card drivers and your tv tuner drivers. I had a similar problem with my DVD decoder, and this solved it.

Also try DScaler (latest version 4.18) : http://sourceforge.net/projects/deinterlace/
If sound won't work, then use the dscaler.ini file posted (by a Rage3d forums member) here: Text

This was a clean install so I couldn't possibly see a driver issue. As for DScaler, never played with it, but heard bad things about it...not being stable and all. I would like to have a stable program and ATI sucks at providing that stability :|

just to clarify, I know I have a sound or video lag (depending how you look at it) issue because I have several TV's in the house and I can turn one on next to my room and hear the lag....it's as if the MMC takes a second to relay the video and sound to the computer....this is just BS. I never had that kind of problem with my trusty old STB TV PCI running in W98SE...why is ATI's 2003 card running like crap?! running worse than a 9 year old card? Granted it's running in WinXP, but still, it should run like a dream...heck I paid $100 for it, which is double the price I would've paid for a leadtek :| So, if anyone has the same card and has a TV near the comp, please verify this with me so that I know I'm not the only one :p

It's an MMC software problem. One soution: Uninstall MMC, then use Driver Cleaner to clean out all traces of "ATI MMC". Next, install MMC version 8.1 or 8.2, and double-check that the sound works normally.. Next, additionally install MMC version 8.9. This solution seems to work, although you'll have 2 MMC's showing in Add/Remove Programs.
One advantage of DScaler is that the scroll-wheel mouse can change TV channels.
