My title was actually taken from a VR-zone news post so I wouldn't take it literally. I know its only about 10 days more but still Nvidia is VERY late with this product. I just think Nvidia over shot again is all. The architecture is probably really good but just too much for the 40nm process.

BFG posted that link in a couple threads..

Though when the translation says "frequency" is that a lost in translation way of saying the partners do not have the proper number of cards.. or that they have not finalized the core clocks yet?

At first I thought the former, but it is used towards the end as well which has mean leaning to the clock related use.

It seems either 40nm still must mature more, or this architecture would be more comfortable on a die shrink.

Somewhat relatedly, it seems the graphics companies should seriously consider a better backup plan instead of relying entirely on TMSC. Their one error has cost both companies significant piles of cash

This is the first piece of news which makes me feel more comfortable about Fermi. Here's why. Retail availability at the exact time NDAs are lifted is good for nabbing impulse buyers. You want to do this if your product is not at a clear advantage over the competition.

Giving customers over a week to mull over benchmarks and price/performance means you'll have a more educated customer base, making rational decisions. This is what you want when you have a superior product.

OTOH, it could be they've only got 5000 or so chips which will sell no matter what they do. I'm hoping it's the superior cause, not the extreme limited run.

It means core clock, I went for the original article. However, I agree about the point that it's a mostly unknown source. If it was to be true, I think Charlie would have boasted it by now.
