After years of great service from dejanews (and just the other day I was talking with people about how great it was you could once again type www.deja.com [deja ctrl-enter :)] instead of www.deja.com/usenet) and now it's gone.......AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.....I refuse to even try the replacement.

It's not gone...it's going to get better! Google's the best search engine there is, and Deja had SOOOO many messages that 90% of them weren't even accessible due to the problem of search speed. Google will open them up again.

They do need to make sure you've still got the same control over your search as you did with Deja though.

Yeah, that friggin' rocks! :D Was browsing Deja this morning, hit it this afternoon and got Google instead... Hopefully they'll do it right... when they're done they'll have almost half a BILLION messages going all the way back to 1995... way cool!

It will change. Didnt you read the help part? They are adding in a ton of stuff in the future, like listings by newsgroups, posting, and more. Give them time :D

Google used to have the best search engine by far. In the last six months or so, it has started to go downhill. :( I used to find all my searches on there on the first one or two pages. Now I sometimes don't find anything at all.

All good things come to an end, at least on the net.

I thought that Google powered several other search engines. Isn't that true?
