Dehydrated Banana Chips

I got a food dehydrator last night and I made a batch of banana chips. Their texture is kind of chewy. Has anyone made them so the texture is like the banana chips you buy in a store. I realize those are usualy fried in oil, but I figured the dehydrator woudl be able to get them a little more crunchy. Maybe I should leave them in a for a long time?

apples and bananas take a while to dehydrate if you want them totally crisp. If you want to speed it up, you can always dehydrate them for a while to get them half-way there....then put them in the oven at 250 for a couple of hours.
