Defragmenting keeps on dumping me out.

Why everytime that I run Defrag in Windows 2000, it reaches a certain point that it dumps out? It gives me a message about FATxxxxxxxx something something.

Have you tried the normal things like run scandisk first, also make sure no anti-virus etc is running in the background when you run defrag.

I don't think Win2K has in its System Tools, Scandisk.

Go to Computer Management under Administrative Tools. Under Storage choose Disk Management. The right click on the problematic partition choose Properties -> Tools. There is an error-checking feature that is the equivalent of scandisk.

Don't know if it was that MulLa, but the defragmenting went without a glitch.
