Defragmentation Programs

Whats a fast program that can consolidate free space? I've tried Perfect Disk but thats really slow so are there any others?

They all take a significant amount of time.

The one that I've been using lately and had a lot of luck with and has been highly recommended before is VoptXP.

Its still slow but it doesn't use up much system resources so I can actually do stuff while defragging with VoptXP.

Any defrag program will be slow the first time. You gotta pay the price of time the first time and let it organize your data. To make it faster afterwords you just have to do it more. PD is a great program.
Defrags can only go so fast because they are limited by the 'slow' mechanical hard drive.

the speed is directly proportional to your hard drive speed.

my raid5 can defrag the whole 750GB space in like 30 mins the first time around, and like 5-10 minutes for subsequent passes using perfectdisk

set it up on stealth patrol, and just leave it alone

Free, doesn't require an install, runs from the command prompt, and does a seemingly great job.

I have an ISO that I just mount to the VM, run it directly, then eject the ISO.
