Do your know third party defrag utilities to be used under NTFS (other than what is available in Symantec and McAfee packs)?

If I'm not mistaken (which I usually am for some reason. :p ), Diskkeeper Lite was used for NT 4.0. Heh. I think it was b/c Microsoft couldn't make a better defragger themselves. LOL.

Diskeeper Workstation is the one to have, I have been using it for about 6 months and am very happy with it. It's very quick compared to Windows standard defrag utillity. Although Win XP uses a cut down ver of diskeeper it does not have all the options likwe the full ver.

EHobaX, diskeeper lite is in Win2k and XP....NT never had a built-in defrag utility.

Back in the NT 3.5x and 4.0 days, Microsoft's official party line was that due to the design of NTFS, data never becomes fragmented, thus no defrag utility.

Believe or not, see what M$ states: The Disk Defragmenter tool is based on Executive Software's full retail version of Diskeeper.

See with your eyes here.

I used to use Diskeeper, then switched over to O&O Defrag.

Has a lot of customization options and is very fast (depending on what type of defrag you do).
