Defrag SRT cache?

i have a hdd that is being accelerated by a ssd cache with intel's srt. would defragging the hdd also affect the ssd?

Interesting question... Depending on how much effort Intel put into their software, it could screw up your cache by caching stuff that's being defragged (lots of reads and writes) and removing your "normal" cached stuff.
Related: The extra movements in and out of the cache SSD could use up a couple of writes.

Essentially, the only way to be sure is by trying and analyzing what happens.

Don't defrag automatically, or while SSD caching is enabled.

Thankfully enabling and disabling SSD caching takes all of 5 seconds.

Disable SSD caching, defrag, re-enable SSD caching.

It won't speed up anything that has already been cached, but might help for those times when it has to hit the HDD. Note that when you disable and re-enable the cache, the cache will have to be rebuilt at that point. That means the first boot afterwards and the first time launching games, etc will be slower until the cache is rebuilt.
