Weekend guest did something comical to my iMac - their airmattress unplugged it over and over again yet the kept on turning it on to watch my iTunes videos..

I'm guessing it happened dozens of times over the weekend, now my iMacs a bit sluggish and I'm wondering what I should do. I used the included disk utils already - should i try anything else?

There's an option to repair permissions or something, which I think is the Mac equivalent. I don't recall how to do it, however (not currently a Mac user)

Mac Hard Drive -> Applications -> Utilities -> Disk Utility

Start that up, click on your Hard Drive, and start with verify permissions. If oyu need to repair any, you need to boot off your OS X CD, then run Disk Utility and repair the permissions. From what I've read, Deffraggers for the mac don't really make much of a difference/are not needed.

If your looking for something more in depth, you can try Disk Warrior.
