Definitive Technology ProTower 400

Hey guys just wanted a little info from any Def Tech owners. A co-worker is selling a pair of the ProTower 400 for $220. I know they are an older model he bought them in 2001. Im not to familiar with the Def Tech brand but reading some reviews they have good ratings. I really don't need anymore speakers but this seems like a great deal. He has them stored in his garage. Going to listen to them today. Should I buy them? So torn.......

Not a deftech owner, but that seems like a total steal. Speakers are something that don't change a *ton* with tech (though some), so I wouldn't worry about them being a bit older. People seem to love them based on reviews.

Yup went ahead and bought em.....got home got yellled at. Wife was not happy. That's the argument I said too "couldn't pass up the deal, total steal". She didn't care. Oh well. Got them set up next to my Paradigms. Gotta say they sound great. Good full midrange. Built in sub is ok but doesn't get very low. Overall very impressed with Def Technology. Kinda wanna look at some of their newer stuff now.
