Took a drive by Best Buy last night and noticed their Magnolia section was being taken apart for renovations. They had just put up a big sign that all of their floor models that weren't going to be used after the reno were 40% off the open box price. Originally was looking at the Martin Logan 40's, but the open box price wasn't great. The Def Tech's retailed for $599 each, with the Open Box Price + 40% off i was able to snag them for $269 each. They had some B&W's as well but the price was a bit too high to swallow.

Currently running an Athena Micra 5 system with a Denon 1612 receiver (75w/ch), though i only have it set up as a 3.1.

I don't really have an ideal room for bi-polars, our HT is in the corner and I can't pull them out much from the angled walls but i was seriously impressed by the built in 8" 150w subwoofer in each tower.

I have a 20 month old and originally wanted to "downgrade" to a decent soundbar with a wireless sub to help remove the clutter from the living room as she's starting to get interested in touching just about everything, but when i saw this i couldn't pass it by. They also had a nice Denon soundbar for $270 but i figured these would go first.

Thoughts - worth keeping? I figure i could even try to sell them if need be given the price i paid, or just return them.

The young one will change everything. I'd return. If I had a little one I'd spend my audiophile money on headphone amp + headphones. Luckily both of those are a hell of a lot cheaper and quieter.

If you dont have the room, why bother with bipoles?

I have the BP2000TL, from 1999.

Keep em if you like how they sound in your room. Teach the little one not to touch and everything will be A OK.

If not you can probably sell them for a little more than you paid, then get the sound bar a be relegated to crappy audio for the next so many years.
