Definitive Reggae Albums..

My mp3 collection, like always, is total crap. I need to add more reggae to it. So, what are the reggae albums that I will need?

And.. don't just tell me 'everything by bob marley' or something like that.. I want good recordings, non-live, that sound like they were recorded within the past 20 years... none of this old crap that sounds like it was recorded before bass exists.

If its roots dub you are looking for, then Im going to have to recommend Black Uhuru as they are my absolute favorite when it comes to the real rootsy stuff. Most notable songs include:

-Guess Whos coming to dinner
-Shine eye gyal
-General Penitentiary
-Push Push
(newer stuff, more electronic but still good)
-Fit you haffe fit
-what is life
-Plastic smile
-party in session

Be warned, Black uhuru is a bit different from Bob Marley, they have a bit of a harsher sound

Third world is also one of my favorite reggae bands (at least before they 80s americanized their music)

-Roots With Quality
-Cool Meditation
-Irie Ites
-Tonight for me (a bit hard to find, at least for me)
-Having a party
-Satta Amasa Gana
-96 degrees in the shade
-Human Marketplace

Steel Pulse is more 80s synth oriented but I like it just the same. Some of their stuff may be too "Poppy" for your taste.
-Babylon the bandit
-Tightrope
-Your House
-Save black music
-Cant stand it
-Earth Crisis
-Ravers
-Not King James version
-roller skates
-Steppin Out

That's Just what I can name off the top of my head (the stuff I listen to the most) I have a bunch of other artists ranging from dance hall to dub in case you are interested. This concludes Reggae 101

-PS. Can you guess where my parents are from?
