Can the Iraq army even fight at night?
No, they cannot. They do not have enough NVGs to be able to do anything at night.

Because we'll continue to fight 24 hours a day when we attack, it will be the fighting at night that makes all the difference.

Why I agree that our night ability is usefull, considering the overwhelming force the Iraqi's are up against I don't think it will 'make all the difference'. Perhaps speed up the inevitable even more.

The US could bomb during the daylight hours and fight with ground troops at night. That way the Iraqi soldiers wouldn't get to sleep.

The US military, and probably the British also, have the greatest advantage when it is darkest.

Guys, we aren't going to start the war tomorrow. There are still many inspectors, diplomats, etc in Iraq. They always give those guys a few days to get out of the way. My bet is Thursday or Friday at the earliest.....

They start bombing late this week, around Friday.

The ground forces move at the next new moon.

The ground forces go in within 24 hours of the start of the war. Iraq will set itself on fire and that would be a huge problem.

Well, I have heard from some reliable sources that the we will be in Baghdad by the end of this week. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Iraqi military turn on Saddam in the first few days and a surrender shortly thereafter....
