Just a heads up on this error I received today when WU attempted to install the latest Defender definition. The option offered is to Retry but the solution is to open Defender and update from there.

As the thread below states, the error loading definitions is not mitigated by the forthcoming Creators Update. Fact is , after the Update, the problem is worse. Post Update, there is no solution.
