Had a conversation with some girls yesterday. We seem to have a different definition of being "high maint". My take on it is being extremely dependant and always demanding from others.
Their take was taking two hours to get ready. What do you guys think?

if they're needy and always wanting something, usually material, then they're hm. Usually also equate them with gold-diggers

Dependence != high maint.

High maintenance is a woman that must be seen wearing the "right" clothes, eating in the "right" restaurants, going to the "right" clubs, having the "right" circle of friends. It's the poseur mentality.

The girl you spoke to is freaking brain-dead. It can be any number of things, none of which include "taking a long time to get ready", including costing a lot on clothes and entertainment and crap, and then also requiring a lot of your free time and being a clingy bitch.

I consider a high maintenance woman someone who requires a lot of time, money, attention, and even material things to keep them completely satisfied. These usually tend to be those that are raised in wealthier homes, join sororities, and who are just straight up spoiled for the first 20 years of their life. Great to bang.... horrible to date! I've been there.

Low maintenance is a female that just enjoys lying around w/ ya watching a movie, has her own friends that she spends time w/ and gives you your space when you need it, and doesn't ask you to buy this and that...etc. I have a low maintenance g/f right now and I love her to death. She'd be happy going fishing w/ me on the weekend just to spend time.

Also, let me add in that high maintenance women tend to suffer from depression in their latter years...

It all catches up w/ them in the end.

Both definitions fit the bill.

Another definition is a girl who demands lots of cash and gifts.

to me, hm does not include time. hm mainly means a lot of material things to keep your woman. a person that enjoys what you do, and not who you do it with.

to me, it has always been who you do it with, and not what you do. a boring thing can be made extremely fun if done with the right people.

HM girls require lots of attention. It doesn't have to be money. If she's a chick that requires you to do everything with them they are HM. If they cry and make up stories just for attention, they are HM. It doesn't necessarily have to be money they are after, just a lot of your time.

Here are some good hm examples from a female friend of mine:

she insists on valet parking, but won't offer any money to cover the ten bucks that it cost (like the rest my friends in the car)

goes to bars and expects her male friends to buy her drinks, becuase she doesn't want to be seen up at the bar

tans year round

deffinitly takes 2 hours to get ready

brags about going to highschool with the SA Spurs Devon Brown

etc etc

edit: Fvck it, i'm not hanging out with this chick anymore!!

Boats are high maintenance. That's why they're referred to as a she. Where do you think that comes from?

In a nutshell.

I was going to say "pain in the ass" but thats even more vague.

Basically...its the extreme stages of the princess syndrome.
