Definitely an easy question for most of you, but where do I go to a chat room where I can meet local people?

I've been surfing the Internet since 1995, but I haven't figured this one out yet (probably because I didn't care). But now that I've been dumped and my ex's boyfriend moved here to be around my ex, I think I should try and see what online offers. So where do you go when you want to meet people from your area?

When i wanted to talk or meet someone from around my area i would go on AOL chatrooms. I used to go to New Jersey Chat Rooms or North New Jersey, since thats where i live. They also have chatrooms for every state.
