Hi all,

I'm a total Unix noob, so please be gentle if this turns out to be an incredibly stupid question.

I recently installed Solaris 10 on my secondary hdd. I've gotten everything working smoothly, except a) my Liteon DVD burner isn't recognized, and b) I can't access files on my main hdd. I understand issue b) might be because Solaris doesn't recognize NTFS. Is there any way around that short of reformatting.

Again, I'm totally new at this, but I'd definitely appreciate any input you guys have to offer.

It's been a while since I touched solaris, but...
a) What do you mean it isn't recognized? Are you trying to use a data disc, music, burn something?
b) Haven't tried it (first hit in google): http://uadmin.blogspot.com/2006/07/ntfs-on-solaris.html

a) It's not showing up in any of the menus, it doesn't light up or spin except during startup, and it doesn't open when I push the button. It works fine when I boot up during Windows.

b) I'll give that a try once I get home. I was kinda wondering if there was a way to do it through Package Manager.
