Liberal, Conservative, Left, Right, etc? I always see these terms being used but only have a slight understanding of what they are. If someone could give me an exact defination that would rock. Thanks.

Liberal: my ideas are better than your ideas but somebody else is bound to have the best idea

Conservative: idea?

How about "progressive," most liberals I know wish to be referred to as progressive rather than liberal.

Nocturnal, I started a serious answer to this thread but then I checked your profile. Your profile says you're from the U.S. Seems that it's not worth messing with you on this question.

Liberal: What's mine is mine, whats yours is mine. If I can't have it, no one can.
Conservative: Maybe if we do nothing, it will all go away. Maybe we should do something now and then so it looks like we're busy.

Basically they are the EXACT same. Only ignorant people think their side is TRULY better than the other.

Does this mean you're ignorant, Commander?

Liberal: I'm so enlightened and caring, that my opinion cannot be wrong!
Conservative: I don't care if my opinion is wrong, it's my opinion and it's right!

and the only thing the are making any progress towords is making this great country into a socialist state, bent on taxing everyone 100% and in turn providing for everyone because we are too poor to afford anything.
