Someone clarify this for me. Is it just someone that drives an import car or what?

<< Who/What Exactly Is a Rice-Boy? >>

Rice-Boy is a stereotype. The typical Rice-Boy can be identified by his car, or rather what he does to it. Generally, Rice-Boy will start out with a car that was not meant to go fast (typically a Honda Civic), and attempt to "fix it up," usually consisting of aftermarket rims, lowering springs and an aftermarket exhaust system with a large exhaust tip.

Most Rice-Boy cars (or "Rice Rockets") have the usual complement of stickers proudly displaying features that the car might or might not have, most notably, the Honda VTEC sticker from the later model Preludes, and the plaques from the later model Integras.

Rice-Boys do not exclusively drive Japanese cars. There are quite a few fake Mustang '5.0's and Camaro Z28's out there, as well as quite a few strange looking Neons.

Rather silly. All these people buying 40 dollar heatsinks, doing crazy case mods, and overclocking, are mocking people who do the same thing with their cars. Hypocritical, no?

No, because those things actually help to increase the performance of your computer. The big thing about "ricing" your car, is adding all these stickers, huge exhaust pipe, etc. because you think you're increasing your performance, but you're not.

Good point Loogie, but the point is that with our computers we make them FASTER, not just appear faster. I have nothing against somebody who has taken their car and actually made it FASTER, but making it LOOK faster is stupid - that is what I consider rice to be. If you've made your car look like a circus but it can actually haul ass, well then all the power to you. But I will still laugh at how stupid it looks.

An exhaust system does increase performance. While the aesthetic aspect of "ricing" a car up do not necessarily increase performance, it does increase its aesthetic appeal to a small portion of the population, not me however. Your argument stating that the people putting stickers on their car are doing because they think it increases performance is simply stupid. It is about aesthetics. The same reason people put AMD stickers or intel stickers on their computer case. It does not increase performance, but does make the object the sticker is adorned on more aesthetically pleasing in the eye of the owner. The stickers are an advertising vehicle for companies, as some actually do sponsor some of these "rice" cars.

Painting it black increases performance? Putting it in a clear case increases performance? No. Overclocking is akin to people trying to get more performance out of their vehicles. Decorating the case/car are no different.

Basically same as ~30+ years ago when people joked about "chroming it" (engine parts, etc), to "make it faster".
I guess human nature never changes

It's someone who does too much to any car, usually body modifications, and it ends up looking stupid. Some very nice modified cars can be found in Turbo, Import Tuner, or Sport Compact Car magazine. I personally like a clean look.

Nutcase, that isn't a "riced" car.

Since you liked those so much, check out the main site beaterz. Many more laughs inside.

"RICE" as we call em is a sported out import car from an oriental car company.. Though most of Honda is made in USA like my Civic was 90% made in the US, If I was to take it but the Coffee Can exhaust tip on or all the Stickers and any other mods to make it still go slow that would be a "RICE"

Now when they start getting Turbo's on the Supra's and stuff then they start getting fast and can be a neat car... so "RICE" isn't always a bad thing. Just a name for modified for race Imports

Still have yet to see an import in the King Street series though :)

EDIT: GOD I CAN'T TYPE!!
