my pc randomly freezes. i could be doing nothing or have 20 apps open at one, or just leave windows idle and it would still freezes.
how do i know if its the motherboard? the cpu? ram? power supply? or win7 64bit???

thanks!

Well you need to start from somewhere ...

Lets say the Ram , that is an easy to do ..
Turn the system off , remove the power plug .. and pull out one of the two modules,
and test the system ..

I bet that you have two modules , in Dual DDR mode .. right ?

After the test with the single module , power off , remove power plug , and test the next one.

Make this first test , and report back.

i was hoping there would be software from the manufacturers to test their hw...i mean, how does best buy troubleshoot?

i've just taken out a ram like u suggested....so far so good. lets see....

Had similar problem with display drivers few years back. I remember changing my Radeon x1600 with GF6600. After that screen was randomly freezing. Reinstalled drivers (newer) second time for the 6600 and problem was solved.
