Defective monitor?

Just bought one of Dells new IPS monitors, the U2311H. I just plugged the monitor in and nearly one fourth of the screen is covered in gray bards and colored vertical lines. I unplugged the DVI cable and turned the monitor on, but i can still see the lines, so i know its neither the cable nor my graphics card. Should i just return the monitor or is there something else i can try?
