Guys,

I am attempting a new build, and I am having problems with the wireless keyboard/mouse lagging badly at times. I have tried the keyboard/mouse combo on other computers/laptops in the house and they work fine.

The lag was very pronounced after the installation of Win7, and it improved quite a bit after I updated the motherboard to the newest bios and installed the latest drivers from Gigabyte . However, it still lags from time to time. I am not sure what the problem could be. For some odd reason, I was shipped the older revision of the motherboard, so I am not sure if that has anything to do with it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

My setup is:

GIGABYTE GA-MA785GMT-UD2H
AMD X3 720e
2 x 2GB G.Skill Ripsaw DDR3 1600
Corsair H520

I suspect the keyboard and the mouse are to blame. Or there is interference between the dongle and the keyboard/mouse. Try moving the dongle to a different port and removing other wireless devices further away from the PC. Do other USB devices work fine?

I would suggest trying what lopri suggested. I just built my mom a computer with the same mobo and was having similar problems with her wireless mouse. I removed the dongle from the port in the back of the case and moved it to a USB port in the front and that seemed to fix it.

Thanks guys!

I did try moving the usb receiver for the mouse around and it did not help at all, but I did not try to move the usb receiver for the keyboard. Once I did, the problem went away! I feel like an idiot.....

BGC,

I bought the mobo from Directron as they are by me.
