Hi:
I just replaced my 2-year old defective Samsung 204B monitor with a brand new Samsung 2053BW monitor which Samsung given me last week. The defective 204B has a yellow triangle on the upper left corner and require about 3-5 mintutes to completely turn on.
For the first 2-3 days, it seems the new LCD monitor has no problem. Now, during the usage of computer & monitor, once in a while in a day, the LCD display would gradually become dithered (mesh like).
If I turn off the monitor and turn it back on immediatley, then it's back to normal, but might be good for a minute or so, then it became dithered again. Turn it off then back on and it's normal again. repeated this process for several minutes and it can be normal for a good while. But you never know when it's going to happen again.
I have checked the cable connection and it was nice and easy.
Is this the problem of new LCD monitor or the video card? My video card is Gigabyte Geforce 8400GS, model GV-NX84G256H. Could it be a defective nVidia video chip, the news cirulating on the net that all of the 8xxx series chip are defective?
I don't have extra PCI-E card to test, so can anyone give me an idea? Thanks.
