"Default view" in WinXP?

Can anyone tell me how to make mpg's and other movie files open up in windows media player and not in an internet explorer browser? My wife selected to open in IE and now it tries to open there all the time and doesn't work right. Any help is appreciated if you can tell me how to fix this. I did a forum search and came up dry.

try this...

click on the icon to open the media frame
look towards the bottom for media options
go to the drop down menu under settings, and uncheck "play web media in the bar"

might work for ya.
