What is the default vcore on an athlon xp 1600? My motherboard monitor says that I am at 1.824 and I was wondering if that is why my system frequently has booting problems. First off, it takes about 5-10 seconds for my video BIOS info. to display. And second, sometimes my computer automatically goes into BIOS and tells me that my system hung due to an incorrect cpu speed setting and it tells me to choose between 1050 (10.5 x 100fsb), 1400 (10.5 x 133fsb), or manual. I had originally used 1400 but I now have it on manual to see if that will solve the problems. Thanks

Well mine seems a little high then for not having oc'd it. Could this be because I have an Asus board? (I have heard about incorrect readings on Asus boards). Should I just specify the vcore manually?

Asus boards usually have higher vcore voltages, that should not bring you any trouble except for a little more of heat, but you should be happy if you are goin to overclock it, since you'll probably will be able to raise it 0.1+, so it should hit 1.92 Vcore, that should give you some extra power to overclock, also extra stability. If you want you can lower it a little, but the booting problems shouln't be coming from that.

Ok, it seems weird though that in bios I have it set to 1.75 but it reads it as 1.824 in the hardware monitor. That is a big jump. Any idea what is causing my booting problems?
