default settings give 333mhz and faster FSB gives 320mhz???!?!

I have Shuttle AN35N Mainboard running an Athlon 2100+, I want to OC so I increased the FSB setting. However, when it is at default, it starts up and shows 333mhz memory. When I OC from 133mhz to 161mhz and hit the 2.0ghz mark, (limiter is memory), I get 320mhz at startup. Does that makes sense, how can a faster FSB result in a lower mhz speed????!

Did you lock the memory to the FSB so they go up in a fixed 1:1 ratio? If not, that should take care of it (assuming your memory is able to run at that speed).

The memory frequency is set to auto.........should it be set to 100% or perhaps 200%??? or By SPD?

with OCing FSB, i get athlon 2700+, Your memory frequency is running at 320mhz at startup!

It makes no sense!

Using "100%" will give you the same as the FSB, in your case 320MHz (160fsb). Use the "By SPD" option to ensure 333MHz.

nope.....i guess i should use 200%, but wait, wouldn't that still give me 320mhz??? How can it possible be 333mhz when fsb is at 133mhz. just doesn't make sense.......also, the funny thing is i can't push it past 163mhz............i donno if its the memory or what.........timings are low....7-3-3-2.5
