Deer -- what would YOU do?

Now that I live in the city, I'd call animal control and not give it another thought.

When I lived in the middle of BFE, he'd have been dinner.
 
I'd like keep him as a pet; I have plenty of space, and an available stall (2 available stalls when the pig goes to the butcher on Friday.)

But, deer carry some disease that's lethal to alpacas (I forget the name of the disease). Rather than see a small fortune in animals die from catching the disease, I'd have to get rid of the deer. I have a couple contacts who could handle the "problem." With any luck, my middle/high school is going to have a state of the art facility for studying deer behavior within the next 2 years. That little deer would go to the herd that is slated to be coming to our school. However, if the person with that herd didn't want it... It'd be venison.
