DeepDiscountDVD Employee Trying to Get my Credit Card #?

Some lady at their 800 number said to price match a DVD for me(Matrix Reloaded 😉) had to have my credit card number as on her screen it's blocked out except for the last 4 letters. I was like umm.. It shows it on my account it shouldn't be a problem and she said they lost all the credit card numbers, wtf is that?

If you called to get the DVD, I think it would be okay to give your credit card number. Sometimes if you don't save the information on their website they're not allowed to charge to it? I don't know.

That's the thing, if I was buying over the phone I could expect it. I already was charged and wanted to price match was the thing. I was looking at the # on my account on their website. THem losing all their credit card numbers didn't sound quite right to me =/

It sounds plausible but it would raise some red flags for me.

Maybe ask them to cancel your order and you can re-order online?

I'd call back and speak to a manager... Ask if that's common practice. If there is someone actually trying to steal numbers, I have no doubt the manager would like to get rid of them.
