Dedicated Twitch.tv Streaming Laptop

I have recently started streaming on Twitch.tv with my gaming PC (specs here) doing both the gaming and streaming. I have read that using a second machine to stream can allow better in-game performance on your gaming PC by taking the additional load of streaming off of it. I am interested in doing this, but instead of using another desktop, I would like to use a laptop because I am already in need of a laptop for my schooling.

My question is, what would be an ideal laptop for this kind of usage? I have found people suggesting parts for desktop builds, but there is very little information I could find on dedicated streaming laptops. My price range is around $1,000, and I would like to make sure that this setup would actually improve my streaming capabilities rather than hindering them. I say this because I have heard that if your dedicated streaming machine is not powerful enough, you may actually reduce stream quality. My goal would be to be able to stream games such as Skyrim and Battlefield 4 in at least 720p@30fps. I can do this without a problem using just my gaming rig, but then my in-game fps usually dips lower than I would like.

I am also not sure if a capture card is required in this kind of setup, because some people say that it is, while others say it isn't. If a capture card is required, it would be helpful for me if you could take that expense into consideration when suggesting possible laptops.

If I am in over my head with this $1,000 price range, I would still like to know what the best possible solution is. I would like to know as much as possible about this before making a purchase, so feel free to leave as much extra information as you like. I appreciate any help and advice anyone has to offer.

Thanks, Joe.

It's been almost a week now and while hundreds of people have viewed this thread, no one has replied. If anyone has any idea whatsoever about the topic at hand I would really appreciate some input. Even if it is just to tell me that this can't be done, that is better than nothing. Thanks!

Sorry buddy, not all of us are into Twitch. In fact since this is more of a hardware issue, I will ask the moderators to move this thread to the Laptop forum.

Good luck, and welcome to Anandtech.
