Hi,
Just doing a bit of research & my search engines keep returning results for emulated 7.1 headphones unless its the Razer Tiamat 7.1 headphones of which I already have had for over 6 yrs now.
So my real question is, does any other manufacturer make proper dedicated 7.1 (or even 5.1) headphones that are preferably wired with 3.5mm connections?
If they are open ear or closed, doesn't really matter as long as they have dedicated drivers for each sound channel to both ears.
Seems to me so far that these old headphones were the only one of their kind made at least since 2016 or thereabouts.

I'm fussy with my gaming audio, pin point precise sound location in open gaming worlds works magic with regards to immersion & I don't buy this virtualized rubbish a lot of the other manufacturers insist on selling to the market...

Thanks in advance! :)

I think you want something like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/275320920461

Don't think they will work with 3.5mm connection but I don't know, haven't checked. I bought these before Madcatz bought the company. Cost me around $250. Sound is pretty good but couldn't really check with games since most of the games on PS3 and PS4 had support for 7.1 channels so I think they worked in stereo mode?

I still have them but haven't used them in years (they need power from their own adapter for the Dolby decoding device these headphones need to be plugged into). Also, I think I managed to step on them and broke one side and they are in a semi-usable state using just tape. All I can say is, they were really good and my preferred way to experience audio.

When I finished writing above, I found a link to the one I have: https://www.ebay.com/itm/234531022053

This one has multiple drivers: https://www.ebay.com/itm/275007106460

This is pretty expensive: https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-ROG-Centurion-Surround-Headset/dp/B0725JXRBN

Thanks for that, most interesting those items you found. I was really only researching what's available from my fav online retailers here in Australia. Didn't know that company based in South Korea made those types of headphones to this day, although I'm a bit sceptical about the build quality considering the price but nonetheless, an interesting find. Yeah, those Asus ROG Centurion headset certainly is expensive, at least compared to what else is on the market with surround sound in headphones.
I'm kind of in two places with this at the moment. Still thinking if maybe getting actual surround speakers instead of headphones will be a viable option instead although I did discover on ebay America my Razer Tiamat 7.1 but in V2 version for a very reasonable price. :) I have no complaints about the sound quality of those overall, however like with all closed ear headphones, they can get a little uncomfortable in extended gaming sessions, its just the design of that concept.
