My friend is getting a new cordless phone and wants to stick with Panasonic.
She asked if the new DECT 6.0 phone are any good. I had to check wiki since I never heard of them:
DECT on Wiki

I guess they have been used in Europe for a while and are new to America.

Anyone use one? Do the batteries last longer? Is the quality of sound better? Are they less susceptible to interference?

Any feedback would be great.

Thanks.......!

panasonic
uses regular aaa nimh
no battery pack over priced nonsense.
so panasonic is win
dect is perhaps more secure
i know it doesn't interfere with wifi..which is the main issue.
just tell her to buy a panasonic dect and be done with it.

Yes, I got one when my regular 2.4ghz phone started interfering with the 2.4ghz wireless routers..which was almost as soon as I started using the routers :) they worked great, no more packet loss with the phone rang/in use!

edit: it was an DECT AT&T phone setup

Converted to a DECT Panasonic last year (2 handsets, basic setup for $40 at Frys) because my 5.8GHz Panasonic handset was sucking (people on other side couldn't hear me) after only 3 years of use.

Very happy with the DECT Panasonic. Much clearer than what I had. Would have bought it sooner had I realized it was so much better than what I had.

DECT is the way to go. I have a four handset Uniden set-up I got on black friday for $40 bucks last year and love it.

I like mine. The distance from the base that I can use them in is much greater than that of my old phone.

my legally blind friend has a set (2 handset model) with talking call waiting and display.

he likes it so far. I don't have any other info about it though. I will ask him later tonight.

i have a uniden dect 6.0 setup, not really impressed.
every other call has static and crackling (which is not on my phone line (verified by analog phone) which is only minimized by the boost mode.

im very close to attempting to find some other cordless solution.
