DECT 6.0 cordless phone

So I was reading that Backtrack can receive DECT 6.0 cordless phones and I have a DECT 6.0 cordless phone! But I'm not sure if it uses encryption or not. I think Backtrack can only decode unencrypted data.

So I need some help here since I can't find out whether my phone uses encryption or not. The phone I have is an AT&T model CRL 81212.

If the thing isn't using encryption I'm buying a 5 GHZ DSS phone.

I would buy the card and try Backtrack with my phone to see if it does use encryption, but I'm a Linux noob and can't figure out how to use the software. :/

I would honestly just cal them and ask. That way it would be clear if it has it or not. My guess is it doesn't though.

So I called and she told me that in fact the phone uses encryption. I know it's weak encryption, but I doubt anyone around here has the capability to crack it.

Well weak is better than nothing. You are probably right, most will not waste their time on it. Good luck and have fun with it.
