decrypted files to regular dvd- help needed

i decrypted a few of my kids dvds to the pc .i selected main movie files and ifos.they play fine on the hard drive with powerdvd.one of the originals went bad so i copied the decrypted files to the video_ts folder with nero and burnt back.it plays fine in the dvd-rom with powerdvd but on the sony standalone i'm gettin subtitles and repeating video.the original movies are less than 4.7gb so there's no compression involved and the sony supports my dvd-r discs.should i try some quality dvd-r discs or is it related to the fact that i selected main 'movie files + ifos' instead of 'select all'
