I have a user who just called me asking about how to 'unlock their USB drive after entering the password wrong 6 times'. They encrypted some files on there without my knowledge, and of course someone tried the wrong password multiple times locking the encryption.

I realize the chances are slim, but is there any slight chance this data can be decrypted? I don't know much about Imation so maybe they've implemented a bad encryption method. Just wondering if someone has some info on this. Google isnt turning up much for me besides how to restore the encrypting/decrypting .exe.

Thanks

Is this the ironkey ?
If so, you have 10 chances, then your data is toast, as in, if 10 wrong passwords, it will self-destruct the data on it.

I haven't even seen the USB drive in person, so I just know its Imation software, and a few Google search's do bring up Iron Key in the results so I guess they are related... I figured its hopeless.
